PHOSPHATIDYLSERINE LP LYRICS

ILL SEER: PHOSPHATIDYLSERINE
(fos-PHAT-id-ILL SEER-een)

The first solo offering from theology professor and PhD candidate Cyril Guerette, the veteran performer from the UK's top hip-hop outfit, Delegates of Culture. The Ill Seer is a man of many interests, but has been a lover of hip-hop since the late 1980s. The record's title refers to a brain nutrient - a symbol of the type of nourishing music the Ill Seer provides. This is integrity filled hip-hop from an intellectual perspective that provides an honest look into the Seer's life and seeks to challenge the socially created boundaries of artistic expression.

*Nominated by the Canadian Gospel Music Association for the 27th Annual Covenant Awards in Best Hiphop/Rap Album category.

WHAT DO THE CRITICS THINK?

"When you insert this CD, your brain will be injected with a blast of raw Hip-Hop word power unlike anything you are hearing underground now. ... Overall, it's a holy experience."
- Pound Magazine

"This record is tight from start to finish. 10/10"
- MumblesHiphop.com

"Some of the beats are absolutely stunning melody-wise and Cyril's unique flow twists and turns all over the place to create a very interesting listen ... This is a very good album that's a bit of a breath of fresh air in a rather stale scene at the moment ... 8/10" - Future Music Magazine

"The rapid-fire lyrics demonstrate a fascination with phonetics and language construction and make this a great album to listen to over and over. ... Far from a purely intellectual affair, this album covers an ambitious and impressive amount of territory." - Xen Magazine

"Lyrically Ill Seer is an excellent vocalist, a deep mc, an original mc with his own unique style ... You can tell that Ill Seer has put a lot of thought into the vocals and along with the fat production throughout the result is a solid debut from this Delegates Of Culture mc." - Critical Beatdown Magazine

"Bringing a variety of producers to the table, Ill Seer keeps things fresh musically ... this is sure to please the ‘backpacker’ set with its headphone-ready stance." - GrindMode Magazine

"Ill Seer makes El-P sound like Greg Nice" - HipHop Connection Magazine

"Whether you prefer to study his personal lessons or just sit back and enjoy the sounds, Ill Seer has loaded his first album with a nice collection of beats ... On the other side of the spectrum from much of the mainstream club-hop that's clogging up the shelves, Ill Seer's Phosphatidylserine is guaranteed to entertain over multiple plays." - Exclaim Magazine
